In May 2003, He was selected from a pool of over 100 junior officers to serve as a mentor, assistant coach, and staff instructor in the Air Force Academy Athletic Department.

He Coordinated logistics, travel, and accountability for more than 25 National and International Air Force-sponsored athletes.

In 2004 he became a Junior Officer in the Air Force Pilot Training program. He participated in planning for joint operational Search and Rescue exercises involving Air Force, Navy, and US Special Forces assets.

He also managed and forecasted budgetary requirements above $4M for Base and Component Command-level exercises.

In 2005 he became a Nuclear Missile Operations Officer in Charge. He was hand-selected by Base Commander to serve as Officer in Charge of the Command Post, overseeing Search and Rescue, Combat, Security, and Communications operations for over 2,400 active duty personnel.
